Dad Revolution Launches

For the past couple of months I’ve been part of a team of Dads who were creating a brand new blog called Dad Revolution. We were supposed to launch back on April 1st but that didn’t happen. We needed a few more tweaks to get the site ready. I’m glad too that it wasn’t launched that day because for too long Dads have been seen as the joke. In movies, on TV and comic strips Dad is the bumbling buffoon. I joined Dad Revolution to help put a stop to that stereotype of the inept, pratfalling moron or worse the Dad that sneaks off and avoids helping his wife and spending time with his kids.

I have been lax, to say the least, with this blog and that ends. I have a library full of Eva’s books and new stories about Eva every day and so this blog will be updating regularly in 2009, I even have a contest happening this month, so if you’ve given up on me give me one more chance to make things right. Read to Me, Dad will be a highly talked about and blogged about blog in 2009.

9 Short Days

In nine short days Eva will be 1 year old. I’m not sure how this will hit me but I will probably be crying as she is plowing her face into her first piece of cake. I can’t believe that this tiny baby has grown to be such an independent little toddler. She is smart and beautiful and everything a father could wish for in a daughter. She’s becoming much more interested in books and likes us to read the same ones over and over. Yesterday when I got home and picked her up from my mom’s house she scooted across the room holding a book. She wanted me to read it to her. That was really cool. So there will be many more book reviews coming. I’m working on a possible Virtual 1st Birthday Party for Eva at her party on the 19th. So you actually have to wait 18 days before you see the Birthday stuff on this blog.
